Nicholas Stigall

    Nicholas Stigall, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, is an organist, church musician, and aspiring conductor currently pursuing a Master of Music Degree at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. He received his undergraduate education at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and holds the Associateship Certificate of the American Guild of Organists (AAGO). As a church musician, Nicholas has previously worked as Organ Scholar at Trinity Episcopal Church in Bloomington, Indiana, the Chautauqua Institution in western New York, and Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, Oregon. He is currently Organ Scholar at Trinity on the Green in New Haven, Connecticut. Nicholas was recognized in the Diapason’s “20 under 30” class of 2023 for outstanding achievement in organ playing and has also achieved top prizes in competitions such as the Arthur Poister Organ Playing Competition and the Regional Competition for Young Organists, which he won in 2019. He recently performed the world premiere of “Chromatic Rhapsody on an Original Theme” by American composer Pamela Decker with whom he has enjoyed extensive collaboration. Nicholas is thrilled to be attending his first RSCM course and is delighted to be working again alongside director Katie Webb, who provided rich inspiration and mentorship to him during his time at Trinity Cathedral in Portland
